The Utena Movie! As a standalone movie, it really doesn’t make a lot of sense. It’s so laden with metaphors that it can be difficult to make sense of even for people who love the series. Regardless, the visuals in this movie are absolutely stunning & unforgettable imo. Such lovely character revamps and so many rose petals!

Hurrah! It's Juri from the movie! I love how you can see most of the sword she's using in this shot. I'll also have to go back & check my screencaps - the back of this cel is painted black, as though the scene were backlit at some point.
