The Utena Movie! As a standalone movie, it really doesn’t make a lot of sense. It’s so laden with metaphors that it can be difficult to make sense of even for people who love the series. Regardless, the visuals in this movie are absolutely stunning & unforgettable imo. Such lovely character revamps and so many rose petals!

Anthy looks at Utena with fear as Utena screams in her face...

Another cel I never thought (but always hoped) I would own. Those eyes! I almost couldn't ask for a better movie Anthy and from the scene where Utena conforts Anthy too! No Utena layer, but the Utena-head layer covered half of Anthy's face in the film, so I probably wouldn't have displayed it with it anyway. Who knew there was such a beautiful cel underneath the huge Utena-head layer?
