The Utena Movie! As a standalone movie, it really doesn’t make a lot of sense. It’s so laden with metaphors that it can be difficult to make sense of even for people who love the series. Regardless, the visuals in this movie are absolutely stunning & unforgettable imo. Such lovely character revamps and so many rose petals!

Cleaning Uniform Wakaba

It's cleaning uniform Wakaba! I love this cel of Wakaba & this scene in the movie. She is wielding a broomstick in mock duel with another classmate who is begging her to stop, alluding to her time as duelist in the series. As in the series, the one she is 'dueling' in the movie is not fighting back; I thought that was a nice touch considering her how duel in the TV series ends up panning out 🙂
