Anthy was a character that confused the hell out of me the first time I watched Utena. At the time, I connected deeply with Utena & probably as a consequence, I didn’t like Anthy very much. However, I saw a completely different, deeper, scarier character the next time I watched the series that absolutely fascinated me; each time I see it, I see more of her influence. She is one of those characters that has continued to mesmerize me & one that inspires so much compassion.

She is my favorite character from Utena & probably my favorite character in anime; I am always looking for nice or unusual cels of her.

Anthy in Akio Car - Ep34

What a beautiful cel of Anthy! I love this pose. Later in the episode, Miki imagines that Kozue is this image of Anthy.

This also comes with a very large, interesting sketch, which is 19 inches across and 12 inches tall. However, this is not a pan cel. In fact, the sketch includes part of her skirt that pans up through the shot. Apparently the pan cel for this shot is out there - I just wonder why the whole sequence wasn't just pan cels if they bothered to actually draw all of her from the skirt down in these sketches. Strange!
