Anthy was a character that confused the hell out of me the first time I watched Utena. At the time, I connected deeply with Utena & probably as a consequence, I didn’t like Anthy very much. However, I saw a completely different, deeper, scarier character the next time I watched the series that absolutely fascinated me; each time I see it, I see more of her influence. She is one of those characters that has continued to mesmerize me & one that inspires so much compassion.

She is my favorite character from Utena & probably my favorite character in anime; I am always looking for nice or unusual cels of her.

Anthy Shamed - Ep4

Another really neat cel of Anthy - the A1-End cel is Anthy's clothes, face, glasses, etc. The B1 and B2-End cels are her eyes to make them quiver on screen. This beauty also came with a timing sheet for the sequence and sketches for every layer.

This is a bank cel in Nanami's Anthy-humilitation day-dreams when Miki, Utena, Anthy and Nanami are studying for a make-up exam. Almost no line fading in the glasses - fantastic!

I remember really debating about actually picking this cel up. After receiving it, I don't see how I ever had doubts about it. This is still one of my favorite pieces, most complete pieces - and a bank cel to boot!
