I never thought that I would be much of a sketch collector. After all, Utena actually has cels! However, the more that I have collected, the more I am able to see the whole animation process & the work that went into making cels & the anime. It’s pretty fascinating!

These are various sketches from the TV show for which I do not have corresponding cels. I tried to place these in the order that they appear in the series.

Juri PreDuel - Ep29

Set of Sketches, Layouts, & correction sketches of Juri, right before her duel in Episode 29. I love the progression from the final sketch, which is a little off kind of everywhere for juri's character design, the yellow correction layers, which are absolutely spot on with each curl. Very lucky to have this gorgeous set of her.
