I never thought that I would be much of a sketch collector. After all, Utena actually has cels! However, the more that I have collected, the more I am able to see the whole animation process & the work that went into making cels & the anime. It’s pretty fascinating!

These are various sketches from the TV show for which I do not have corresponding cels. I tried to place these in the order that they appear in the series.

This layout is incredibly detailed and such a pivotal piece of the story in Utena! I don't see a number on the layout, only that this is from cut number 2 from the sequence, which I'm pretty sure was the first sequence in the series. Very rare & beautiful!

I feel very privileged to be able to add this piece to my collection.
