I never thought that I would be much of a sketch collector. After all, Utena actually has cels! However, the more that I have collected, the more I am able to see the whole animation process & the work that went into making cels & the anime. It’s pretty fascinating!

These are various sketches from the TV show for which I do not have corresponding cels. I tried to place these in the order that they appear in the series.

Wakaba Rough Correction - Ep12

Wakaba: "I do understand!"

Wakaba rails at Utena, trying to get her to snap out of an unresponsive state.

Such a lovely sketch that really captures her frustration; Wakaba alone of Utena's friends tells her to fight for what she wants & tells her to not give up.

So nice! I would love to know what the text with an exclamation mark says on this sketch, but I cannot read Japanese. If anyone that takes a look at this does, would you shoot me a quick message?
