I never thought that I would be much of a sketch collector. After all, Utena actually has cels! However, the more that I have collected, the more I am able to see the whole animation process & the work that went into making cels & the anime. It’s pretty fascinating!

These are various sketches from the TV show for which I do not have corresponding cels. I tried to place these in the order that they appear in the series.

The Dance Layout - Ep3

This is an interesting layout since the artist orginally drew Anthy in the green party dress, although the layout also has the tablecloth dress superimposed on the image. I guess they realized the mistake?

The other two layout copies are for the rose petals that float across the screen as they dance.
